“IT TAKES TWO” (对对碰) Singapore Drama Review. One Heck of a Rollicking Old School Farce!
NOT A BIG DEAL, BUT I STAYED GLUED TO THE GOOGLE TV FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THIS CAPRICIOUS DRAMA SERIES.
CHARISMATIC, COLORFUL CHARACTERS ARE STREWN HERE, A DIME A DOZEN.
SALUTE this ACTOR called RAYSON TAN 陈泰铭.
We never took notice until this one.
Consider this his breakthrough role.
He was the ONLY REASON why I continued watching this series, from episode 1 to 34, despite the fact that I almost gave up following the drama during mid stream.
FUNNY, WARM and STOOGEY, he was one hilarious ROAR!
RAYSON, HOW COME WE NEVER FELT YOUR PRESENCE BEFORE, UNTIL THIS ONE?
You have to hand it to this actress called ANN KOK 郭舒贤.
She is constantly ploughing new challenges.
Career woman, crazed hussy, constipated bitch. Whatever, no problem!
After this series, she needs a royal fragrant nickname.
How about POOP QUEENIE, dearie ?
Ahhh, here comes our dashing ROMEO in the form of ROMEO TAN 陈罗密欧.
If you have eyes to see, he is the best thing to emerge from SINGAPORE MEDIA CORP stable in recent years though some of his closest colleagues may not agree. Where are those bosom buddy, friendly congratulatory hugs?
And he is a noble successor to personable veterans such as LI NAN XING and CHRISTOPER LEE, telling us that you don’t have to win the STAR SEARCH CROWN to be placed among the best. Too fast? So soon?
For this sparkling gem, Singapore Mediacorp certainly has gotten it right.
KEEP ON GLOWING, ROMEO!
These YOUNG UPSTARTS (Names + Pictures above) are squealish faces to watch in the coming years.
They literally UPSTAGED the entire SHOW, especially ALOYSIUS PANG who did a commendable job.
“IT TAKES TWO (对对碰)” Singapore Drama Series.
AN OVERSEAS REVIEW.
Colorful charismatic characters are strewn here, in an unlikely food center, a dime a dozen.
And the explosive ruckus that follows when some of these troublesome hawkers do not see matters eye-to-eye.
At 34 episodes long, it’s a case of one too many.
Half way through all the ANN KOK’s fuzz, this Reviewer is starting to get fidgety and restless as the jokes are oft repetitive and the plot is hitting the doldrums.
The character played by ANN KOK is either preening or pooping.
Loads of shitty talks, funny at first.
Then the fun relegates to disgust as familiarity starts to breed contempt.
Too much of a good thing kills. Surely.
KYM NG plays a disgruntled housewife who is perpetually nagging, whining and wallowing in self-pity about her lot in life, being married to a nerdy fish ball hawker. (Slap …slap …)
CHEN HAN WEI descends from leading man status to play a middle-aged lecherous man from a competitive fish ball stall. (Big pat on HAN WEI’s back).
“IT TAKES TWO” is a extraordinary blend of comedy and drama that’s not quite anything else in most Singapore MediaCorp dramas.
CREATIVE CONTENT prioritizes on this BLOG.
You bet it's pure bliss if every ARTICLE can also beam like a piece of KOOL deviant art.
I dabble with a colorful tapestry of VISUALS and WORDS to ham my message, to tell the stories in my own way.
A PICTURE radiates a thousand words. For sure.
Herein lies my heartbeat, my soul - offsetting every rhythm and tone, expounding on my private aesthetic world.
STEP RIGHT IN.

IS THIS CHILD REALLY LAUGHING? FILMS DEMONSTRATE THAT LIFE MAY NOT BE WHAT IT SEEMS.
KOOL MISSION (STATEMENT)
I used to be an AD MAN, promoting and positioning BRANDS.
That was the past.
My present life revolves around FILMS.
PEOPLE often ask me - aside from being an EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, why I'd choose to write about ENTERTAINMENT.
My answer is simple.
LIFE imitates and radiates ART, if you care to look.
With the wicked glitz of Hollywood blockbusters, films have a dedication to the viewer, a role to portray.
It’s often easy to overlook the mesmerizing, transformative effect that motion pictures have on the world.
Beyond transporting viewers into new worlds and fantasies, films exercise a definitive didactic power. They shed light on an issue, paint a story and chronicle history.
Films have the persuasive power to cajole, to influence people, to “draw” them into celluloid “situations”, and in doing so, they demonstrate how the world can be changed.
I write about FILMS, therefore I am.
Through the powerful medium of film, you get to “live” the lives of the characters you have always envisioned to emulate - from the reel to the real, and vice-versa.
